Sealing and protective performance
Damp proof and waterproof: edge sealing materials (such as PVC edge sealing strip, hot-melt adhesive film, aluminum foil composite film) can block the contact between air, moisture and the inside of foam, and prevent foam from absorbing moisture, softening and deterioration (especially for materials with strong hydrophilicity such as EPS foam and EVA foam).
Structural reinforcement performance
Impact resistance/compression resistance: edge banding (especially hard edge banding materials, such as ABS and aluminum alloy edge banding) can improve the anti collision ability of foam block edges and reduce damage during transportation and installation (such as edge banding of foam packaging buffer blocks).
Shape stability: foam itself is easy to deform. After edge sealing, the deformation range of its thermal expansion and cold contraction can be limited, and the dimensional accuracy of the product can be maintained (such as the foam character and the edge contour of foam modeling are fixed).
Load bearing enhancement: for foam parts requiring light load bearing (such as foam display stand), edge sealing can disperse local pressure to avoid edge collapse

Decorative scenes: soft PVC edge banding and wood grain paper edge banding can simulate wood and metal texture, replacing traditional decorative materials (such as wood like edge banding of foam ceiling).
